Okay here's the thing: Becoming a writer means applying ones bottom to the chair that lives in front of your computer.
Jerry Jenkins (Left Behind Series) said something like... set a time of day to write and a goal of usuable words (say 500) every day (at least 5 days).
All this boils down to the dreaded "D" word (discipline). When I am serious about "getting it done" writing means writing before breakfast, but for you, it might mean writing before bed. Whatever time you set aside, asking for help is critical. Pray for inspiration, time, energy and a finished product that is all you and God imagined it to be.
Everyone has a story in them. Believe it.
The odds of getting published in the traditional way (agent and publisher) are astronomically against you. However, though I have been that route, I personally do not believe the traditional way is the best way. I love the printed page. Holding a book is one of my greatest joys, but let's face it, digital everything is the future. I hate admitting the cherished paper book might someday be extinct.
Would it be wise to prepare?
